Punch Club is pretty good. But it should be used as a example of how to not do game design. Posted: 02 Oct 2016 01:13 PM PDT So I have been playing punch club after getting it on humble bundle and the beginning and middle are pretty fun... but then... Jesus... just, wow. The game has a stat decay that is actually insane, you will often times lose a good 1/3 of all training progress in a day. Combine that with the need of food, money, and energy. This game effectively becomes a slog the more you go into it, the more fights later on being just matches of you losing constantly and desperately trying to grasp skills that keeps your training points from decaying any further. It becomes fun to frustrating to the point where I have no actual reason to play the game anymore. I have no more fun and the only reason the game has any good ratings is because of the beginning and middle parts of the game. Anything later and it isn't worth it. At all. I cannot bring myself to come back to it no matter how much I liked all the other parts. Good game. But actually awful game design that the entire community despises. The developers do not answer the calls at all and have pretty much left the game as what is basically a broken mess to waste time on instead of having fun with. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Oct 2016 01:24 AM PDT Had to upload this as a self post due to the bot removing it due to the site its being hosted on being Twitch so = a stream link according to the bot. Discuss away at this! I personally think it's going to provide a strong and healthy competition to youtube, with how youtube is running the show lately (youtube heroes, really shitty community guide line changes and many big names having to use external systems (Piemations, H3H3, etc) for income), i think this will provide the kick needed for them to get their head back together. Any thoughts on SMT 4: Apocalypse? Posted: 02 Oct 2016 01:21 PM PDT It recently came out, I think last week, and has gotten absolutely 0 posts that iv'e seen so I thought i'd ask about it. Personally, as someone who loved 4 but quit (i just got stuck on a boss late game and well yeah) i'm enjoying A, a LOT. In the begining it was kinda meh, but after an hour or two, the story took a sharp right turn and from there it's been a pretty interesting "what if" scenario that basically expands on the neutral part of the game in a very big way. The base game is almost completely the same as 4 with changes mostly being to mudo/hama (not instakill anymore unless your smirking) a little change to smirking, the partner system, the green quill and, most importantly IMO, a very good difficulty curve. It starts out a lot faster then 4 and it's not instantly hella hard to gradually easy. It seems like it starts out at a good level and is slowly ramping it up. Overall, I'm not sure i'd recommend it at full price, espically if you've played 4 recently but if you enjoyed 4 and it's combat+story, i'd highly recommend it and overall i'd recommend it in general. Btw, i'm only maybe... 8-9 hours in so the story or difficulty may also change a lot. [link] [comments] |
